Mr Higgins was very friendly and approachable and he took great care to explain everything to me before and after the procedure. He listened to my symptoms and knew I needed a hip replacement before he even looked at my scans. The whole procedure was excellent, and the whole procedure ran very smoothly with no issues at all. He came to see me the next day as the op had been carried out the previous evening and he explained everything that had been done. I was given strong painkillers to take home with me, but I never needed them. Paracetamol and Ibuprofen dealt with any minor aches I had from the leg. By the six-week post-op review I was walking mostly unaided and was very pleased with my pain-free progress. Mr Higgins was also very pleased with my progress and we agreed at this point that I could be discharged and return to normal life. For a major surgery this was a pleasant experince with a great surgeon.

Mr Higgins, prior to surgery clearly explained the issue with my hip and treatment options. Although I was anxious on arrival, after the consultation with Mr Higgins I immediately felt at ease and confident in receiving expert medical care. The services that I received before and after the surgery were excellent.

An absolute phenomenal surgeon, incredibly kind and caring, explained everything in fine detail about what was going to happen throughout the surgery. I felt totally calm and at ease throughout the process I can’t recommend Mr Higgins enough. He’s given me my freedom back to be able to enjoy going out with my family pain free.

I had two total hip replacements one in January 2023 and the other in May 2023 and both procedures were performed by Mr Mark Higgins, I have nothing but praise on how I was treated by Mr Higgins and my recovery is going well
